When to go to Morocco
Although most people visit in spring and summer, there really is no single, best time to go to Morocco. People are increasing visiting throughout early spring, early autumn and even for winter sun in December and January. Here is a summary of Morocco by season which may help you decide the right time for you.
Spring (March-May)
Very pleasantly warm and sunny, typically in the 70's inland, cooler on the coast. But also busy, particularly over Easter. Due to the temperature, a good period for a comfortable country tour.
Summer (June to mid-September)
Temperatures inland exceed 100F in July and August although the coast and the High Atlas remain fresh. As you would imagine, this is a busy time for tourism on the coast and in the cities. The High Atlas and Middle Atlas mountains at their most attractive in this season.
Autumn (mid September to October)
Temperatures become comfortable once again and the countryside can look arid after the dry summer. With the crowds beginning to dissipate, a good time to visit.
Winter (November to March)
A popular period for those who want to avoid the crowds, there is cool air in the day although often sunny even in December (nights are however cold). Visitors at this time of year tend to head to the oasis valleys of Sahara, Agadir, Taroudant and the Western Sahara which are warm and green.
