OtherDescription
Maison Mnabha is a cultured Marrakech riad accommodating up to nine guests, owned and managed by two English brothers. The riad was built over eight-hundred years ago and the original decoration in the main salons of intricate carved plasterwork, mosaics and cedar wood ceilings is still intact. The house also displays a number of museum-quality artifacts which used to belong to royalty and associated families of Morocco.
Although the second floor has been more fully renovated, and therefore does not have the originality of the salons, this renovation has been completed sympathetically in keeping to the rest of the hotel. Guests will find their rooms quiet, comfortable and private. Each guest are supplied with silk kimonos and slippers for the duration of their stay. The roof terrace to the hotel allows guests to admire the panoramic views of nearby minarets, ancient palaces and the Agdal royal gardens. On a clear day it is even possible to view the Atlas Mountains from this point. The terrace has generous seating for guests who want to sunbathe or just sit and admire the views. The patio provides another area in which guests can relax or, alternatively, the richly decorated salons inside are also welcoming to guests.
Read MoreWithin twenty minutes walk from Maison Mnabha, guests can find themselves visiting the Souks and main square of the city, the Jmaa el Fnaa. The famous Saadian Tombs are only five minutes away while the remains of the Badi Palace are a little further beyond. Staff at Maison Mnabha can recommend and arrange attractions in Marrakesh such as the “Sultan Spa”, which is highly rated for health and beauty treatments. Maison Mnabha is also very helpful if guests wish to travel out of Marrakesh as their staff will arrange guides for Saharan and other excursions. Additionally, travel guides and reference books are available in the lounge for guests to consult, and Wi-Fi internet connection is also free to use.

The Editor's Summary
Maison Mnabha's recent reviews have been very positive, praising the staff's attentiveness, and the "spotlessly clean and comfortable" rooms. Although the upstairs rooms have been renovated the lower ground salons provide genuine Moroccan decoration creating an "overwhelming experience". The outside communal areas such as the terrace and patio provide an informal place for guests to sunbathe or take advantage of the views. Overall Maison Mnabha proves to be a quiet and romantic riad, set back from the hustle and bustle of central Marrakesh. Whilst the riad has been described as perfect for couples young and old alike, and even solo travellers, Maison Mnabha does not cater for young children.
Maison Mnabha was a treat to stay in. It was an overwhelming experience to walk through the door into the richly decorated salons with beautiful ceilings, walls and floors. The owners have really shown this riad off to its best potential and although some may find the upper floor rooms a disappointment because they don't have the same level of decoration, we found this a bit of a relief as we felt more at home in a room less busy with pattern!
Breakfasts were great, couldnt think of a better way to start the day and we had a couple of dinners on the roof terrace where the staff lit candles and incense - very romantic. The staff were incredibly attentive and Peter (owner) had lots of interesting trivia about the area. We wanted a quiet hotel just off the main square and thats what we got - the hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere perfect for couples, like ourselves, probably not so suited to young children. We stayed for two days in total and enjoyed it immensely - cant fault Maison Mnabha

Lovely hotel - heavily decorated so might not be to everyone's taste, staff were fluent in english so when we were discussing plans for the next day they were very attentive. Peter helped us plan a trip to the Atlas mountains which was really helpful, would have been lost without him and the mountains are definitely a must. View from the roof terrace in the mornings was my favourite part of the stay and the fact the hotel is hidden away in old streets makes it much quieter than i had expected. Mnabha's prices were good value for money, the rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable, above all the genuine feel to the house makes a stay here an experience in itself.
