Kasbah of Tinerhir
Above, the Kasbah of Tinerhir is one of many kasbahs throughout Morocco, rural fortresses that are a reminder of Morocco’s past as a country, which has attracted a series of invaders, from the Romans to, more latterly, the French. Most beautiful at sunrise and sunset, and surrounded by some of the most fertile oases in Morocco, the Kasbah of Tinerhir is often visited along with the nearby Todra Gorge, a celebrated deep geologically spectacular canyon in the nearby mountains. A trip to Tinerhir would be the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle from Marrakech hotels.
